Hommage to Anne Gruner Schlumberger

Home News Hommage to Anne Gruner Schlumberger
Anne Postel-Vinay honors the memory of the Founder of the Académie, Anne Gruner-Schlumberger.

Anne Gruner Schlumberger passed away on July 2nd, 1993, leaving a magical place in Villecroze. She wanted the Académie musicale de Villecroze (AMV) to be a place "to stay and meet" for musicians, writers and researchers. She saw it as a "buzzing beehive of music" with young professionals and also pledged that the AMV would "facilitate the musical education" of children.

Thirty years later, thanks to the patronage that my Grandmother had planned and organized, the AMV continues its dual mission :

- actions in favor of young talents from all over the world (first master class in 1981)

- promoting musical education among children (first session in 1989)

Many young talents and music teachers have left the beehive-Villecroze to share music with others.

We hope that a new generation can continue to perpetuate this action in the tradition of quality and high standards that was desired by its founder.

Anne Postel-Vinay, president of the Académie musicale de Villecroze, July 2nd, 2023.
