Aware of the difficult period that musicians are currently going through, the Académie musicale de Villecroze (AMV) launched a call for musical projects in December 2020. Discover the 17 selected winners who will receive the support of the Academy and will benefit from its premises in Paris and Villecroze between March 2021 and March 2022!

Manuel Vioque-Judde

Viola player Manuel Vioque-Judde is coming to Villecroze to record part of his album of works by Shostakovich. Their stay is also an opportunity to make a documentary on the work in residence and for the promotion of his album.

Trio Zadig

The Trio Zadig has joined forces with dancer Ariane Servagent and director Antonin Amy-Menichetti to combine three art disciplines - music, dance and video - in a single production. The Academy will be used as the setting for a choreographic film on Dvorak's trio op.90 n°4, the "Dumky" trio.

Trio Karenine

Trio Karénine, founded in 2009, has recently welcomed violinist Charlotte Juillard to the group. Together, Charlotte Juillard, Louis Rodde and Paloma Kouider will shoot a teaser to present the trio in its new configuration.

Tessa Seymour & Rieko Tsuchida

Tessa Seymour, cellist, and Rieko Tsuchida, pianist, are coming Villecroze to record the 24 Preludes for Cello and Piano by Lera Auerbach, one of today's most widely performed composers. They will also film interviews and discussions with the composer to further explore the work.

Quarteto Tejo

Quarteto Tejo will be in Villecroze for an artistic residency on the theme of "Portugal, the music of a people", mixing the styles of Portuguese classical music and fado in collaboration with a fado singer and a Portuguese guitarist to compose arrangements of popular instrumental music for string quartet. This residency will end with a streamed closing concert that we will be pleased to share with you.

Ana Carla Maza

Ana Carla Maza's residency in Villecroze is for her the opportunity to complete the creation of a new jazz album entitled Bahía, in which she writes for quartet and invites us to an imaginary journey to Latin America. From Brazilian frevo to traditional Cuban sound through a broad musical prism, Latin rhythms, powerful melodies, jazz harmonies and classical techniques meet. She used our premises to make a short official documentary for promoting this album, which will be released in January 2022.

Ismaël Margain

Pianist Ismaël Margain recorded an album of works by Frédéric Chopin and Gabriel Fauré in February 2021. He filmed part of his teaser, an essential tool for promoting his album, at the Academy's music salon in Paris.

La Musique de Léonie

La Musique de Léonie is coming to Villecroze to develop its new project entitled "The Enchanted Fountain", based on 8 fables by La Fontaine, which is part of the AMV's "Choral singing in schools" mission. This residency will be the occasion to create digital tools for teachers and a teaser to promote the project. It is also an opportunity to organise workshops with schools and colleges in the Villecroze area.

Anastasia Kobekina

Cellist Anastasia Kobekina will release a new album with the Mirare label this year, which will conclude her stay in France. The Academy opens the doors of its Parisian music salon to her, where she will film part of the promotional video for this album, which is a blend of baroque and modernity.

Olga Kirpicheva

In July, pianist Olga Kirpicheva will record a new album called Les Dialogues, a tribute to Sergei Rachmaninov through the interpretation of emblematic works by the Russian composer and contemporary creations by Polina Nazaykinskaya. To accompany the promotion of this album, Olga Kirpicheva is shooting a promotional video at the Academy, with the participation of the young Russian composer.

Charles Kieny

Crozphonics. Villecroze, phonics. The very idea of this project of creating works for a trio accordion-two cellos formation was born during a master class at the Académie, led by Richard Galliano. It is therefore only natural that the AMV should once again welcome Charles Kieny and his collaborators so that they can continue to work on this original repertoire and create promotional tools in the places where this project was born.

Léa Hennino

Don Quixote is an original project led by violist Léa Hennino and cellist Yan Levionnois. Together with a group of artists (Eva Zavaro, Shuichi Okada, Yann Dubost, Guillaume Bellom, Quintette Ouranos, Rodolphe Thery, Arthur Lavandier, Elliot Jenicot and Raphaëlle Cambray), their will use the Academy's facilities to create this project of theatrical-musical concert for the general public based on the music of Strauss and inspired by the story of Cervantes. They will also create promotional tools in a setting that is conducive to the adventures of the ingenious Hidalgo.

Laetitia Grimaldi & Ammiel Bushakevitz

Laetitia Grimaldi, soprano, and Ammiel Bushakevitz, pianist, are preparing their first album in Villecroze, with works by female composers of the Belle Epoque (Mel Bonis, Cécile Chaminade, Pauline Viardot among others). They will also use this time to produce promotional tools, photos and videos with a touch of Provence.

Jérémy Garbarg

Parlando Jérémy Garbarg (cello), Kojiro Okada (piano), Ryo Kojima (violin), Shuichu Okada (violin), Alexandre Pascal (piano) and Violaine Despeyroux (viola), all students at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, are coming to Villecroze to prepare the recording of an album based on works by Kodaly, Ensecu and Janacek. This residency in Villecroze will also be dedicated to a video recording that will accompany the promotion of this album.

Duo Jatekok

Adélaïde Panaget and Naïri Badal, pianists of the Duo Jatekok, join forces with magicians Antoine Terrieux and Philippe Beau to create a magical eight-handed concert. The four artists will meet in Villecroze to create, set up and rehearse this concert-show and create a teaser to promote this original project.

Jean-Paul Gasparian

Pianist Jean-Paul Gasparian recorded his third solo album in February 2021 devoted to Rachmaninov. After participating in François-Frédéric Guy's piano master class in 2020, he returns to Villecroze to shoot a promotional video to accompany the release of this album.
