- French Chanson
The pianist, composer and orchestrator Michel Précastelli is classically trained yet dedicated his talents to the world of jazz for many long years, playing alongside the greatest musicians of the eighties (M. Roques, Nathan Davis, Slide Hampton, Art Farmer, Chris Wood). He spent six years teaching harmony and improvisation at the Centre d'Information Musicale in Paris and has performed on stage with many great artists: Yves Duteil, Catherine Ribeiro, Francesca Solleville, Colette Magny, etc. He has created and orchestrated over 18 albums' worth of French chanson for a variety of different performers, four of which have been awarded the Académie Charles Cros prize.
He teaches at the Académie musicale de Villecroze in 2010.
