After his secondary education, Mathias Hermann studied German and Romance philology at the University of Berlin.
He is involved in the theater troupes of Quedlinburg and Rudolstadt, and performs as an actor in several theaters, Nürnberg and Gelsenkirchen among others, as well as for television (ARD/ ZDF/ RTL/ SAT1).
From 1998 he was a columnist for radio Südwestrundfunk Mainz and radio Baden-Baden. Since 2000, he has worked continuously as a diction coach with reporters, journalists, foreign correspondents and presenters for ARD. Since 2020, he has also been responsible for training young journalists at Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen in Mainz.
He is also a lecturer at Dr. Hoch’s Konservatorium as well as at the Frankfurt Conservatory of Music and Dance.
In 2016, Mathias Hermann, together with Hedwig Fassbender, created the concert series “Lied und Lyrik” at the Goethehaus in Frankfurt.
