After a career as soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice and the Orchestre du Théâtre National de l'Opéra de Paris, Jacques Mauger has been an international concert artist since 1996, promoting the trombone as a true solo instrument on a par with the violin or piano.

His numerous creations have helped expand the trombone repertoire and export French music abroad, in Europe, Asia, North and South America and Australia.

Numerous creations have been dedicated to him with various orchestras.

Teaching is also an important part of his career. Professor at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris since 1994 and at Rome's Accademia Santa Cecilia until 2004, guest professor at Tokyo's Senzoku Gaquen University and currently professor at the H.E.M de Genève site de Neuchâtel in Switzerland, he will be professor at the H.E.M.U de Lausanne site de Fribourg from September 2012, integrating the new brass section.

Jacques Mauger also runs interpretation courses attended by numerous students wishing to perfect their skills in Europe, the USA, South America, China, Japan, Korea, Australia, etc....

In 2008, Jacques Mauger joined Antoine Courtois Paris France and took part in the development of the new Trombone model AC440.

He also collaborates with his friend Jean-Michel Defaye at Editions Alphonse Leduc Paris on a collection of literature about his instrument.

Since 2012, Jacques Mauger has been President of the Association des Trombonistes Français.
