Unanimously awarded first prize for tuba at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon (the class of Melvin Culbertson), Fabien Waller won prizes at the international competitions of Guebwiller (France) and Markneukirchen (Germany).

He has played in the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National de Bordeaux, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo, the Orchestre National de Toulouse and the Orchestre de Lausanne (Switzerland). He was appointed as Tuba soloist to the Orchestre of the Youth Academy "Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival", led by Mstislav Rostropovitch and Christoph Eschenbach. Permanent guest member of the Orchestre National de l'Opéra de Lyon 2000 to 2004, he has also performed in concerts throughout the world and given masterclasses in Colombia, Venezuela, China, Japan, USA, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Mayotte, New Caledonia…

After recording his first disc, "Art of the Tuba" (Indesens label), he brought out his second disc, "Vibrations" (Momistri) in 2014, for tuba and string quartet with original works and creations. Along with his activity as an instrumentalist, Fabien composes works for tuba (Éditions Billaudot) and received a commission for the international competition of Tours (France) in 2015 (Éditions Klarthe)

Since 2013, he has developed his knowledge with the MELTON brand of tubas and has just created his own TITAN 2 model of tuba.

Tuba Soloist with the Orchestre de l'Opéra National de Paris since 2004 he is also a member of the brass quintet of the Opéra National de Paris. In 2015, he was appointed professor of tuba and saxhorn/euphonium at the High Music School in Geneva.
