Sophie Labandibar is assistant and accompanist at the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon, in the class of Philippe Bernold, and at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, in the class of Young-Chang Cho.

Laureate of the Meyer Foundation and the "Dr. Karl Doerken Stiftung", she is regularly invited to festivals such as La Roque d'Anthéron, the Prades festival, the Printemps musical de Saint-Jean de Luz, the Cellofest in Belgrade , the Radio France festival in Montpellier.

Sophie Labandibar was born in Biarritz in 1982. She started playing the piano at the age of 3 with Ada Labèque. At 14, she joined the classes of Alain Planès and Emmanuel Strosser at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP). After obtaining her higher education diploma in piano and chamber music in June 2001, she continued her studies at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany, where she had the opportunity to work in chamber music with musicians such as as Vladimir Mendelssohn, Andreas Reiner, Young-Chang Cho and Christian Ivaldi. Then in September 2004, she was admitted to the Chamber Music Development Cycle (cello-piano duo) at the CNSMDP where she worked with Claire Désert and Ami Flammer.
