Born in Paris in 1986, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger discovered music at the age of eight and then received an intense and varied musical education, with Claude Maillols (piano), Emile Naoumoff (composition) and Vincent Warnier (organ). In 2000, he joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris, from where he emerged with five first prizes. During this period, he participated in many academies and received the encouragement of distinguished musicians, including Henri Dutilleux.

At the age of sixteen, he began a major career as performer, distinguished by the extreme variety of his repertoire, from Bach to the composers of the 21st century. He worked at the most prestigious international festivals (Verbier, Menton, La Roque d'Anthéron, Saratoga, Lucerne), and played with the Philharmonique of Radio France, the Orchestre de Paris, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra under the leadership of distinguished conductors such as Osmo Vänskä, Jonathan Nott, Pascal Rophé, Lorin Maazel, Michael Tilson Thomas. As a chamber musician he has performed with the most brilliant musicians of his generation, like David Guerrier, Andrea Hill, the Modigliani Quartet…

His recordings have been praised since 2004 by French and international critics. "Live at Suntory Hall" which came out in 2008, devoted to Liszt's Sonata, was awarded a CHOC from the Monde de la Musique. His compositions feature on the programme of many French and international festivals. In 2010 the Sinfonia for two pianos and percussion was created at the Festival de la Roque d'Anthéron and he was awarded the Lili and Nadia Boulanger Prize of the Académie des Beaux-Arts. In 2011, he featured, amongst others at the Festival des Arcs, at the Louvre Auditorium, at the Musikverein in Vienna, supported by highly talented performers such as the cellists François Salque and Tatiana Vassiljeva, and the percussionists Daniel Ciampolini and Emmanuel Curt.

He was named "Rising Star" by the European Concert Hall Organisation for the 2010 season. Since 2009, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger has taught at the Conservatoire de Paris, confirming his passionate interest in education. In his Accompaniment Class he organises various artistic events: ensemble music concerts, meetings with composers who present their work…
