Vincent Ségal was born in 1967 in Reims (Champagne, France). He started music at the age of six. Up to graduating from High School, his life is splited between school and music. He joined the National Music Academy of Lyon where he passed the final exams with great success. In 1986 he went to Canada for one year, thanks to a grant from the Banff Fine Art School. 

Stopping by the US, he starts playing new musical styles such as hip-hop, reggae, afro-beat or industrial music. He met Eric Bobo (Cypress Hill, Beasty Boys), Harley White (Blackalicious) and F. Black Davis (Sunkist) and played with "Papa's Culture". After a tour with Chuck Brown and the P-Funk All Stars and a short residence at the Lyon Opéra, he settled in Paris.

His works goes towards contemporary music (IRCAM, Villa Medicis) and extra-European music's (Cesaria Evora, Nana Vasconcelos, Carlinhos Brown, Mama Ohandja, Tama...), but also jazz (Glenn Ferris, Yves Robert, Urban Mood...), hip-hop (Puppa Leslie, Mad Professor, DJ Mehdi), or rock ("-M-", Ben Harper, Vic Moan, Franck Monnet, Alain Bashung, Thomas Fersen, Vanessa Paradis, Steve Naïve...).

He teaches at the Académie musicale de Villecroze in 2015.
