Young Myla knows her grandfather will disappear someday, but he reassures her: “When I die, just go back into the forest... I will be among the trees we love so much.” After her grandfather’s death, the little girl expresses her joys and sorrows seated under an oak tree, destined — Alas! — with other trees to become a ship’s mast, the woodcutters...
